Cheesy Baked Mac & Cheese Recipe

The best Mac & Cheese there is, even as a leftover! I wouldn’t have known this until both of my beloved picky eaters were looking for some leftovers, not because they are simply hungry, but because this is truly yummy.

Description

A cheesy mac and cheese treat!

Ingredients

1 c
fresh milk (full)
1 T
flour
2 T
butter
1 1⁄2 t
prepared mustard
1 1⁄2 t
seasoned salt (or to taste)
1 1⁄2 lb
macaroni pasta (Cooked as instructed in the package (must be al dente!))
2 1⁄2 c
grated cheddar cheese, divided

Instructions

Preheat oven at 380 deg C.

Butter a 9x12 inches baking dish and place in cooked pasta. Set aside.

Heat butter in a saucepan over medium heat until melted. Add flour and seasoned salt. Stir until mixed and start to sizzle a bit.

Add milk and keep stirring until thick. Stir in 1.5 cups cheese. Turn off heat. Continue stirring until cheese is completely melted.

Pour the cheese mixture over cooked pasta and stir to mix. Spread on the baking dish evenly. Sprinkle 1c cheese evenly. Bake for 12 minutes or until it bubbles, then switch to broil setting and broil for 5 minutes or until cheese is golden brown.
